WHAT TO EXPECT

Jaguar Land Rover are looking for an Embedded Software Test Engineer to join their hi-tech global digital workforce to identify and automate activities across the Enterprise. This exciting opportunity is part of our Intelligent Automation Centre of Excellence (COE) which is based in Shannon, Ireland.

We are looking for a Test Engineer who has the ability to write and automate embedded test cases across multiple vehicle analytics and cloud-based projects. The right candidate should have experience in working with tools such as CANoe and RestBus Simulation. Knowledge of working with ISO 26262 and ASPICE SWE.5 and .6 would also be advantageous to anyone interested in this position.

You will be responsible for writing and automating embedded test cases within Jaguar Land Rovers vehicle analytics projects, AUTOSAR ECU projects, as well as the opportunity to work on brand new technology such as ADAS (Advanced Driver Assisted Systems).

We require an experienced embedded tester with experience in working with C/C++ and a strong understanding of design techniques, requirement reviewing and communication busses, ideally within the automotive sector.

WHAT YOU-LL NEED

Essential:
  • The ability to contribute to multi-disciplined, complex, technical projects.
  • Expert knowledge of the AUTOSAR stack and familiarity with AUTOSAR configuration tools (DaVinci Developer / Configurator, EB Tresos, or similar)
  • Understanding of automotive networking, diagnostics and fault handling techniques, including diagnostic implementation in AUTOSAR compliant framework (DEM/DCM config)
  • Experience with one of more protocols like CAN, I2C, SPI, Ethernet, LIN, FlexRay
  • Knowledge of Bootloaders and Cyber Security software requirements
  • Knowledge of automotive diagnostics and system dev tools (CANalyzer, CANoe, XCP, Trace32 Lauterbach etc.)
  • Good knowledge on microcontroller and SoC architecture, device drivers, compiler and debuggers
  • Experience with Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and architectures
  • Experience in reading schematics and data sheets and with board bring-up
  • Experience with on-chip debugging tools and troubleshooting both software and hardware

Desirable:
  • Experience with scripting tools and methods to optimize SW development and testing activities
  • Knowledge of requirements and change management tools and processes, version control
  • Experience with model-based system design (Vector PREEvision). MATLab/Simulink application development.
  • Experience of virtual test, component test and vehicle testing. Verification testing in MIL, SIL and HIL environments, and in-vehicle integration. Vehicle-based software testing and calibration.
  • Worked with scripting languages like CAPL, Make, Python, Perl.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong influencing and engagement skills
  • Experience of safety critical systems and software, including standards such as ISO26262, IEC61508 or similar.
